The Government's Fishing Protection Vessel was launched fewer than 50 times in the last 12 months.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture revealed The Barrule has been out of port 47 times between March last year and this year.
However, DEFA wouldn't specify in the response to a Freedom of Information request when the vessel left port, claiming this could prejudice legal proceedings.
The Barrule is used to enforce sea fisheries legislation in the Island's territorial waters.
