Health Minister to speak to public about DHSC's challenges

The Island's Health Minister will speak to the public about the challenges his Department faces.

David Ashford will provide an update on the Department of Health and Social Care's funding at an event organised by the Positive Action Group next week.

As well as hearing about the Minister's plans to cut costs and make the Department more sustainable, members of the public will have the chance to comment and ask questions at the meeting.

Since taking charge of the Department in January, Mr Ashford has had to seek additional funding for the DHSC from Tynwald and is seeking to find £7m of savings in the next financial year.

The meeting takes place at the Manx Legion Club at 7.30pm next Monday.
