Two coastguard crews were called out following flare sightings off the Island's coast.
Port Erin Coastguard and Lifeboat team responded after a possible red flare was seem in the south of the Island on Thursday evening.
However, nothing was found and all units stood down after over two and a half hours of searching between the Calf and Bradda Head.
Meanwhile, Douglas Coastguard launched a search on the same evening following reports of a white flare in the Douglas Bay Area.
An extensive search was carried out, but nothing was spotted to the team stood down.
