Assessments are being carried out in a bid to reduce the chances of flooding in Laxey.
Garff Commissioners provided an update from Manx Utilities confirming the authority is investigating sewer systems in the Minorca area, while flood risk management remains an ongoing process.
Feasibility studies are also underway for the Laxey catchment as a whole, including looking at surface run-off issues.
Manx Utilities expect the studies and resulting work will take between 18 months and five years to complete depending on the complexities and challenges faced.
Laxey has been affected by flooding in recent years, including in December 2015 when a bridge in the village collapsed following heavy rain.
