Police are warning Manx motorists they could face prosecution if they fail to register vehicles locally after buying cars in the UK.
The Roads Policing Unit is urging those who buy vehicles off Island not to drive them for several months without completing the necessary paperwork.
Cars over three years old must be booked into the Test Centre, while those less than three years old just need to be registered.
Police warn those who don't complete the paperwork face prosecution for having no vehicle licence, as UK tax isn't valid for vehicles permanently based on the Island.
The RPU says it will be pro-actively checking UK-registered vehicles.
