Children from Henry Bloom Noble Primary School
Pupils from the Henry Bloom Noble Primary School are celebrating planting the 5,000th tree at the Children’s Wood in Conrhenny Plantation.
Over 90 trees were planted by Years 1 and 3 of the School as part of the 'Trees for Life' programme.
The event is organised by DEFA and is now in its tenth year having been started by former MHK, Brenda Cannell.
Every year DEFA provide saplings for each pupil, along with an activity book about five species of deciduous trees native to the Isle of Man.
DEFA have been developing Conrhenny in to a community woodland and recreation area which is open to the public all year round. The site includes mountain bike trails, picnic sites and is even host to motor sport events throughout the year.
