Ralph Peake MHK
Laws to prevent harassment of women seeking abortions are being proposed as part of the Abortion Bill next week.
Ralph Peake MHK will move to introduce clauses that will designate ‘Access Zones’ and detail behaviour that will be prohibited in these Zones.
Access Zones will include surgeries, hospitals, clinics and certain other areas where protesting against abortion will be an offence. It will also be illegal to film, photograph or communicate in a way to cause a nuisance.
If passed, those breaking the law could face prison or a severe fine.
The House of Keys will continue to debate the Clauses of Dr Allinson’s Abortion Reform Bill on Tuesday. (13th March 2018)
