Sports hall gets planning permission

Planning permission has been granted for the development of a community sports hall within the Mooragh Estate in Ramsey.

A community group led by former commissioner Richard Radcliffe is aiming to set up a facility similar to the Tommy Clucas Community Sports Hall in Peel.

The project previously struggled to find a site, but is now able to move forward with the certainty of an available location.

The exact design hasn't been finalised yet, but the initial drawings included a maximum sized futsal pitch.

Ramsey Town Commissioners hopes the facility will provide greater opportunity for participation in sport, particularly in winter.
