Douglas Promenade walkway damaged by Storm Emma

A clean-up operation is underway after waves caused damage on the Douglas Promenade walkway.

The road was closed for several hours around around high tide yesterday as waves came over the sea wall between the Sea Terminal and the War Memorial.

The waves caused damage to railings, benches, the surface and the walkway and some cars parked in the area.

The area has since re-opened, but police warn there is still a lot of debris.
