Major repairs needed for TT scoreboard

Major repairs are needed for the TT Grandstand scoreboard.

A structural survey of the structure was commissioned by the Department for Enterprise as part of ongoing safety improvements for the TT races.

The report found the scoreboard can continue to be used up to 2020, but work will be needed if it is to continue to be used beyond then.

The timescale fits with planned road works on Glencrutchery Road, and gives TT organisers time to asses its options and consider a replacement structure.

The survey was carried out to ensure the safety of pedestrians and traffic using Glencrutchery Road, as well as those operating the scoreboard.
