DHSC submits new planning application for care home

A new planning application for a 60-bedroom residential care home in Douglas has been submitted.

The Department of Health and Social Care's original proposals for Summerhill View on the site of the former Glenside home were refused on grounds of visibility along Victoria Road.

The Department has had its architects remodel the layout of the facility and the grounds in a bid to secure planning permission.

The DHSC plans to use the new home to replace the ageing Reayrt ny Baie complex in Douglas, which no longer meets modern standards.
