The Manx Government is planning to end its policy of imposing a default retirement age.
The Government currently has a policy of imposing a retirement age of no less than the state pension age, with a few exceptions.
However, Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas confirmed talks are already underway about revoking the policy during the course of this calendar year.
From 2020, the Island's Equality Act will make it unlawful for employers to set default retirement ages.
The state pension age will increase to 66 between December this year and October 2020, with further increases due from 2034 and 2044.
