The Government says talks over the future funding of TV licences for the over 75s have been very constructive.
The Cabinet Office and the Treasury have been in contact with the BBC and UK Government to discuss the difference between funding for the Isle of Man compared with the UK and the Channel Islands.
Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas confirmed in this month's sitting of Tynwald that talks had taken longer than hoped, but the Chief Minister is hoping to be able to make an announcement by the end of the month.
The BBC has already agreed to part fund licences for the over 75s for residents in Jersey and Guernsey.
The Manx Government currently refunds the cost of the licence for those aged 75 or older.
