A yellow weather warning is in operation as gale force winds are expected to cause problems during high tide this morning.
The Met Office is warning of coastal overtopping between 9.15am and 12.15pm.
Winds reaching severe gale force nine will cause rough seas to break over exposed coastal roads particularly around high ride, which is at 10.45 this morning.
Coast roads around the south of the Island, central and northern parts of Douglas promenade, Laxey promenade and parts of Ramsey promenade are likely to be worst affected.
