A local authority in the south of the Island has described its neighbouring authority as "rate grabbing" over plans to move a boundary.
Rushen Parish Commissioners is unhappy with Port Erin Commissioners' plans to extend its boundary to include part of the new development at Ballakilley.
The board in Rushen claims the move would increase the rate bill for those who live in Ballakilley.
Rushen confirmed it plans to strongly resist Port Erin's application, which has been forwarded to central Government.
Rushen chairman Peter Gunn described it as an insensitive proposal and encouraged Port Erin to withdraw the application.
