Council says bus station site announcement is imminent

An announcement about the future of the Lord Street Bus Station site is imminent according to Douglas Borough Council.

Council Leader David Christian confirmed in the local authority's budget that a positive announcement about the redevelopment of the site is coming in the near future.

Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer announced in the House of Keys last March that plans would be revealed within a month, but no announcement has been made since.

The Council currently operates the site as a car park.

The bus station was demolished in 2002 in order for the area to be redeveloped, but a number of proposals have failed to get off the ground.
