Public urged to hang up on cold callers

Police are warning of cold callers claiming to be conducting a survey about abortion.

A number of Manx residents have reported receiving phone calls from a person asking questions about abortion on the Island.

Cold calling is illegal on the Isle of Man, and the police are urging anyone who receives such a call to remind the caller of this and hang up.

The Abortion Reform Bill, which will allow more women access to abortions on the Island if it passes, had its first reading in the House of Keys this week.
