Fire crews free driver from car after crash

Fire crews had to help a driver from her vehicle following a crash in the Ballamodha area.

A team from Castletown was sent to the scene on Wigan Road just before 11am yesterday following reports of a single vehicle collision.

The car had left the road, leaving the driver trapped inside as the door had jammed.

Officers were able to release the door and help the motorist out of the car before she was given a precautionary check up by the ambulance service.

The emergency services remained at the scene while the vehicle was made safe for recovery.
