A yellow weather warning will be in force until tomorrow as snow and ice is expected to affect the Island over the next couple of days.
The Island's Met Office expects sleet to fall over the hills initially, turning increasingly to snow later.
It's expected the showers will result in accumulations of up to 6cm over higher ground and up to 3cm in low levels.
Forecasters are also warning that icy patches will have formed on wet roads overnight, although the Department of Infrastructure deployed its gritters yesterday evening to minimise the impact.
The weather warning will remain in place until 11am tomorrow.
