The Island's fire service is warning against leaving cooking unattended after being called to a kitchen fire in the south of the Island.
Fire crews responded to a report of a structure fire in Port Erin on Saturday morning.
At the scene, officers found smoke logging in the kitchen and established it had been caused by a pan of food being left in the oven.
The team put the fire out using a high pressure hose before ventilating the property and checking for hot spots, spending around 40 minutes at the scene.
The fire service says around 60% of accidental home fires start in the kitchen, but that they can be avoided if food isn't left unattended, cookers and hobs are always turned off when not in use and tea towels and cloths are kept away from the hob and oven.
