DEFA checked stream for farm waste 16 times

16 incidents of farm waste entering a nearby stream have been investigated at a farm in Patrick.

The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture have investigated 16 incidents of waste entering Barnel Stream since 2010.

In response to a Freedom of Information request, DEFA wouldn't confirm whether it has a record of the number of times a caution has been issued with regard to the farm due to sewage entering the stream.

However, the Department did confirm there had been a prosecution following an incident in 2012.
