Over 5,000 people have been treated for drug and alcohol abuse at Noble's Hospital since 2014.
Figures released by the Department of Health and Social Care in response to a Freedom of Information request show Noble's has handled 5,138 cases related to drugs and alcohol since the 2014-15 financial year.
Conditions related to alcohol abuse make up over 4,500 of the cases, including those suffering from alcoholic liver disease, alcoholic gastritis and degeneration of the nervous system due to alcohol.
Last year, the number of people treated for alcohol abuse jumped up from 1,058 to 1,333, while 990 have been treated since the start of the current financial year.
However, the cases of those seeking treatment for conditions caused by intentional drug abuse has fallen, dropping from 186 to 134 over two years.
