A petition urging the Island's police and Attorney General to ban a pro life group from campaigning in the Isle of Man has gained almost 3000 signatures.
Abort67 protested plans to change the Island's current abortion laws outside Tynwald and in Douglas last week, using banners which included graphic images of aborted embryos in Regent Street.
The controversial images attracted criticism from the Manx public, with many voicing concern about such photos being displayed in the town centre where they could be seen by children.
The change.org petition was set up following the demonstration, and gained over 2,800 supporters in its first four days.
Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson has prepared a private members bill which would allow more women to receive abortions on the Island, rather than having to travel to the UK.
A consultation on the proposals received over 3600 responses from the public, 87% of which supported giving women the choice to have an abortion in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
