The swimming pools at the National Sports Centre will close for eight months next year.
The movable floor of the main pool and the flume rides in the leisure pool both need to be replaced.
The swimming facilities will close in August, and are expected to re-open in Spring 2019, although the exact dates aren't yet known.
Swimmers will be able to use the Island's regional swimming pools in Peel, Castletown or Ramsey during the closure, while primary school lessons have been scheduled so they won't clash with the closure.
