Police warn motorists to check tyres after car hits wall

Motorists are being reminded of the importance of keeping their vehicles in good condition after a car with a bald tyre crashed in icy conditions.

Police were called to Foxdale Road in St Johns this morning after icy road conditions and the bald tyre resulted in a car hitting the wall.

Officers warn drivers might not see icy patches, but that good grip is necessary when driving in such conditions.

The Island's Met Office is warning of further frost tonight before temperatures become milder from tomorrow.
