Police warn against non-essential travel during snow

Police are urging anyone who doesn't have to travel today to stay at home to avoid the wintry weather conditions.

A number of roads around the Island are closed due to snow and ice including the Mountain Road and Richmond Hill.

Many buses have been suspended while the Department of Infrastructure's gritters are out, although routes in the south of the Island are now operating again.

An amber weather warning is in place until tomorrow.
