A new commercial board is being set up to run the Island's meat plant.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has reached an agreement with the Fatstock Marketing Association and Agricultural Marketing Society in a bid to secure the long-term future of the facility.
DEFA had been trying to find private operator to run the plant, but no suitable party came forward during a tender process.
The new management team is due to take over in January, while the Department will continue its efforts to attract a commercial partner to work on making the facility more sustainable.
The Government will continue to provide support, but there will be a greater focus on efficiency under the new board.
