The number of parking fines being cancelled on appeal is rising.
The Department of Infrastructure has revealed 2,209 fixed penalties have been withdrawn, quashed or cancelled as a result of the review process since the start of the 2015-16 financial year.
During the 12 months until April last year, 744 were cancelled, with that number rising to 813 during the 2016-17 period.
Successful appeals look set to increase again this year, with 652 tickets already withdrawn since April.
The details were revealed following a request under the Freedom of Information Act.
