The Government is seeking feedback from the public on the Island's debt collection laws.
The Treasury is planning to reform civil debt recovery - where a court orders a debtor to pay their creditor in a legal judgment.
The Treasury admits the current system needs to be update and made more effective, and that it's proved difficult to find workable solutions in the past.
As part of the first phase of changes, the Government is asking the public to answer a survey on the consultation section of its website.
The questionnaire asks whether the public would like to see a revised register of executions, whether landlords should receive preferential creditor treatment and their views on further data being made available to credit reference agencies.
The consultation closes on December 29th.
