Over 100 bus passenger accidents recorded since 2012

Over 100 passengers have been involved in accidents on board the Island's buses in the last five years.

Bus Vannin confirmed there has been 107 incidents on board its vehicles between October 2012 and August this year.

The number of accidents has increased each year, with 33 recorded last year, but the bus operator insists the increase is due to the reporting of accidents improving.

The figures also include those who have fallen ill during their journey, but the majority of accidents are slips and falls.

The statistics were revealed in a Freedom of Information request.
