The Department of Health and Social Care is asking some members of staff to consider voluntary redundancy.
The Department is seeking employees at management grades to use the Mutually Agreed Resignation Scheme before the end of the year.
The announcement comes following the DHSC's decision to freeze recruitment of non-essential roles as it tries to become more financially sustainable.
Health Minister Kate Beecroft insists cutting employee numbers in some areas won't affect the services provided to the public by her Department.
Those who apply for the scheme can receive a lump payment of up to 12 months' pay, based on a month's pay for each year of service.
