Almost 900 children are currently waiting for an assessment for orthodontic treatment on the Isle of Man.
The Department of Health and Social Care recently appointed a new provider of the service, with Regent Dental Care taking over at the end of last month.
Health Minister Kate Beecroft revealed that 790 children are currently awaiting assessment in primary care, with another 90 at at Noble's Hospital.
135 have been allocated to the new provider on the basis of need, age and waiting time.
1100 children have been referred to the service over the last two years, but the Department says demand has exceeded the treatment capacity.
