The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists has published details of leaked documents from companies with operations in the Isle of Man.
The documents, which have been dubbed the Paradise Papers, show dealings involving the Queen, Apple, Nike and over 120 politicians.
Leaked data from Appleby and Estera was obtained by a German newspaper and shared with the ICIJ, including several files with direct links to the Island.
The Consortium's report claims Appleby's obtained approval from the Isle of Man Government to keep a company belonging to two Russian billionaires on the business register two years after sanctions were imposed against them.
Arkady and Boris Rotenberg, who have links to Russian president Vladimir Putin, were blacklisted by the USA in 2014.
Wesley K Clark, who unsuccessfully tried to secure the Democratic Party's nomination for US President in 2004, and European Parliament member Antanas Guogo from Lithuania are among those also linked with the Island in the documents.
The Consortium intends to release more information from the documents in the coming days.
The first part of a BBC Panorama investigation into the papers aired last night, with the second part going out tonight.
