The charity that provides the Island's Meals on Wheels service says it's shocked by the Department of Health and Social Care's decision to axe the service.
Age Concern Isle of Man has provided the meals under contact since 2008, but has been notified by the Department that it is decommissioning the service in January next year.
The organisation believes the move will make life more difficult for the Island's senior citizens and could put vulnerable older people at risk of malnutrition.
Age Concern goes on to describe the decision as short sighted and yet another burden targeting the most vulnerable people in the community.
Around 300 people currently use the service, 84 of which are over 90 years old.
