Almost £150,000 has been spent on renovations at the Lieutenant Governor's home over the last five years.

Between April 2012 and the end of March this year, £144,078.46 plus VAT was used to fund works at Government House.

Meanwhile, over £20,000 was spent on maintenance at the site during the last financial year, while invoices for almost £10,000 of heating oil was submitted to the Department of Infrastructure last year.

A Freedom of Information request asked for further details on the cost of utilities at the site, but the Department says copies of invoices aren't routinely kept.

However, an electricity bill covering just over three months earlier this year showed the property used almost £2,500 of electric during that time.
