The Economic Development Minister believes transport is one of the biggest reasons for higher unemployment in the north of the Island.
The north of the Island has a slightly higher percentage of people out of work than other areas and the Island as a whole, and is the only area where there are more people out of work than there are job vacancies.
Laurence Skelly told this week's sitting of the House of Keys that his Department already supplies bus passes to help those looking to return to work attend interviews and training, but admitted he could look at extending it to help those starting a new job.
The Minister also confirmed his Department offers incentives to local businesses setting up outside Douglas to encourage job creation in other areas.
At the end of September there were 338 Manx residents registered as unemployed, 67 of which are from the north of the Island.
