Summerhill Glen to reopen after storms

Summerhill Glen will reopen this afternoon following a clean-up operation to deal with trees that fell during recent storms.

The area was shut last week after a number of trees fell during Storm Ophelia, resulting in electrical damage.

Douglas Borough Council warns it will be another week before the lights and illuminations can be switched back on, but the footpaths in the glen are now passable again.

The local authority is urging those who walk in the glen during dark hours to take care until the lighting repairs have been completed.

The site will be open from 4.30pm.
