The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has carried out 14 inspections at the Castlemona Hotel over the last seven years.
Since 2011, inspectors have visited the site between seven and seven times per year.
Only four visits were recorded between 2011 and 2014, while last nine inspections have taken place in the last two years.
A report on one visit found water ingress, damage to internal doors, a problem with pigeons entering the building and a smell of damp throughout the building.
The registered building was previously used as a leisure facility, but has been empty since closing in 2010.
The property was sold at auction earlier this month.
