The Island's Fire and Rescue service is urging Manx residents to follow their safety advice when setting off fireworks.
The fire brigade says serious incidents involving fireworks have been minimal in recent years, but that a number of simple steps can help prevent accidents.
The service urges those buying fireworks to make sure the box is marked with BS 7114, don't set fireworks off after drinking alcohol and ensure all fireworks are lit at arms length.
Other tips include making sure a bucket of water is nearby and wearing eye protection and gloves.
Fireworks can be sold from Wednesday and be set off from Friday until November 5th.
More advice can be found on the Fire and Rescue Service's Facebook page.
