Late departure for Ben after weather delays

This morning's sailing to Heysham will leave late following weather delays yesterday.

Yesterday evening's services had to be cancelled after the afternoon Ben-my-Chree crossing to Douglas was put back by over five hours because of the weather conditions.

The vessel arrived back in Douglas shortly before midnight, but the Steam Packet Company says the 8.45am journey will have to leave late today to allow the crew to have the legally-required hours of rest.

The boat will now leave at 9.45am, with passengers asked to check in by 9am.
