Cyclists could be legally required to wear high visibility clothing as part of a new scheme being developed by the Manx Government.
Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey confirmed in this month's sitting of Tynwald that work is underway to introduce new road safety measures which would protect cyclists and other vulnerable road users.
The Minister insists protecting such road users isn't just about policing, but that educating cyclists not to wear black clothing as well as giving further consideration to the design of Manx roads.
Mr Malarkey also revealed there will be a public consultation before any changes are brought in, and that new legislation won't be rushed.
