OFT warns of ladders safety notice

The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading is warning the public of a safety notice issued by B&Q.

The DIY chain, which has a branch on the Island, wants to ensure its customers are using MacAllister combination ladders correctly.

The 3x7 and 2x8 combination ladders were on sale between July last year and September 2017.

B&Q is urging those who have bought the ladders to ensure the bottom stabiliser bar is fitted correctly to avoid serious injury.

Those who don't have a stabliser bar available with their ladders can contact the store's helpline to order replacement parts.
