New Government office for cyber security

The Manx Government is setting up a new office to focus on all parts of cyber security.

The Office of Cyber Security and Information Assurance will work on a number of areas including Information Risk, Cyber Security and Data Protection.

The OCSIA will be part of the Cabinet Office to protect the Island against attacks that could damage its reputation.

The Government believes a well-publicised attack on the health service, financial sector or critical national infrastructure could be very damaging for the Island, which is why the Council of Minister has decided to establish the Office.

The Office will also ensure that all parts of the Government operate at an appropriate level of cyber security.
