Braking systems on the Snaefell Mountain Railway will be discussed when Tynwald sits next week.
The mountain trams are fitted with an original Fell brake and a rheostatic brake system.
Douglas North MHK David Ashford wants to know how many times the rheostatic system has failed in each of the last three year.
The railway has been suspended after a tram ran through the Bungalow when the newer braking system failed earlier this year.
Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer will provide the figures at October's sitting.
