A local authority is asking residents whether it needs to update the area's byelaws on parks and beaches.

Ramsey Town Commissioners is seeking views from the public on the Amenity Byelaws 1998, which covers a number of public spaces including Mooragh Park and Coronation Park.

The current byelaws prevent the public from swimming in any lake, camping or playing ball games in play areas in the town's pleasure grounds.

The rules also make it illegal for sand, gravel and stone to be taken from the beach.

The byelaws are due to expire next year, so the Commissioners are holding a consultation to determine whether the restrictions are still appropriate.

Views can be submitted until Friday next week. Contact details can be found on the Commissioners' website.
