DHSC claimed nearly £4m between 2012-2017

Staff at the Department of Health and Social Care claimed almost 4 million pound between 2012 and 2017.

Of that, nearly 2 and a half million was to cover mileage allowances for staff using their own vehicles to carry out their work.

The figures were explained to Tynwald after being asked by Onchan MHK, Julie Edge.

The DHSC said that they have 2 and a half thousand staff, many of whom are required to visit people in their own homes to provide care.
