Warning over cold callers

We’re being warned of cold callers operating on the Island, which is illegal.

The Office of Fair Trading is aware of tradesmen visiting homes unannounced and offering to do tarmacking.

The workmen are claiming they have recently been employed by a local company and are able to do work, as they have materials left over from other jobs, but this doesn’t appear to be true.

We’re being advised to contact the OFT on 686500 if we’re approached in this way.
