Tue, 19 Sep 2017

Helping children to understand money management and the workplace is vital to the Island.

The Minister for Education and Children has highlighted the value of programmes delivered by the charity Junior Achievement Isle of Man in preparing young people for the real world.

The Manx charity has been working with primary and secondary schools to deliver programmes such as 'Learn to Earn' for 13 and 14-year-olds and 'Get a Job' and 'It’s All About Money' for 14 to 16-year-olds.

In the last academic year, nearly 5 and a half thousand students have attended 340 sessions, thanks to volunteers from business and commerce. Helping children to understand money management and the workplace is vital to the Island.
