Smokers thinking about quitting will get the chance to attend support groups next week ahead of Stoptober.
The annual campaign encourages smokers to stop smoking for the duration of October, with studies showing someone is five-times more likely to quit for good if they stop for four weeks.
The Department of Health and Social Care is inviting smokers to one-hour taster sessions next week, where they'll have the opportunity to sign up to a six-week support group, starting ahead of Stoptober.
This year's Stoptober campaign focuses on the benefit of support groups, with the taster sessions highlighting the support those trying to quit can expect to receive.
Full details of the taster sessions can be found on the Government's website, while those who can't attend the session but want to join a support group can contact the Quit4You team.
