One of the Island's high schools is stopping letting drivers use its grounds as a short cut after installing a traffic barrier.
The barrier has been installed at the entrance to Ballakermeen High School on Westminster Drive to stop motorists using the route as a cut-through to St Catherine's Drive.
The school hopes having fewer vehicles using the drive will reduce safety risks as well as cutting pollution.
The barrier will be fully operational by September 25th, with visitors to the site having to press a buzzer and speak to the school office to be admitted.
School buses and emergency vehicles will still be able to access the school as normal.
